Workshop Supervisor

We are looking for a Workshop Supervisor to join our Workshop Team in Saudi Arabia.

The main purpose of the role is to report and work under the supervision of the General Manager on all workshop projects. Duties will include running of the workshop resources, customer liaison, preparation of quotes and ‘hands-on’ work in the workshop as required.

Main responsibilities
- Report to the General Manager for all workshop requirements and will liaise with the engineers for day-to-day activities.
- Supervision of the performance of workshop maintenance, repair, refurbishment and testing work.
- Carry out preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and periodic inspections on all workshop equipment in accordance with OEM recommendations, work procedures and Company guidance.
- Planning for future preventative maintenance or corrective maintenance and work preparation, including provision of detailed reports with supporting equipment / materials requirements for onshore support teams to plan accordingly.
- Liaise with project engineers for job cards for each workshop job.
- Follow company and OEM procedures for all workshop repair/refurbishment work.
- Ensure safety of personnel and equipment all the time.
- Carry out toolbox talk and explain daily work activities, risk involve and safety measures to be taken care during each activity.
- Ensure all workshop personnel to follow company HSEQ policy and this should not be compromised at any point of time.
- Monitor all lifting operations in the workshop and yard and follow proper lift plans and rigging gears.
- Ensure use of certified lifting equipment and rigging gears for all lifting activities in workshop and yard.
- The incumbent is to ensure that all workshop refurbishment work must be supported with all the relevant instructions, procedures, drawings etc to enable the activity to be completed in conjunction with the organisation’s safe working practices.
- Responsible for completion of detailed daily reports, completing and submitting timesheets for workshop personnel in accordance with Company procedures and incident forms as and when required.
- Supervision of the performance of all CONTRACTOR Crane Operator, Maintainer, Maintainers, Lifting AP and Riggers.
- Assignment of jobs to workshop personnel on day-to-day basis and supervise the progress.
- Ensure timely completion of refurbishment work of crane components received from various customers.
- Ensure quality of all repair and refurbishment work carried out within company workshop or vendor facility.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with workshop personnel and management to ensure an efficient service is provided on an on-going basis.
- Ensure that work methods and activities optimise the use of available material, capital and personnel.
- Plan for routine inspection and certification of company lifting equipment and rigging gears.
- Generating Work Requests, Work Orders Material requests etc.
- Documenting all, preventive maintenance, corrective maintenance and other routine maintenance activities in workshop.
- Conduct frequent Group Safety Meetings to review and discuss relevant safety related issues to CONTRACTOR's personnel.
- Ensure safety of contractor’s personnel visiting/working within the company premises.
- All PM work will be documented and scheduled in COMPANY CMMS. The PM activities will be completed as scheduled and action shall be taken promptly to correct any deficiencies noted. Failure to rectify defects shall warrant the crane being removed from service.

HSEQ responsibilities
- It is mandatory that the incumbent is familiar with the Company's HSEQ Policy and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Sparrows Integrated Management System. The incumbent must report any incidents, near misses, actual or potential problems with products, services or systems to their Line Manager.
- The incumbent also has legal responsibilities under country-specific health and safety legislation to follow all Company processes and procedures and familiarise themselves with the emergency response arrangements applicable to them. The incumbent is also responsible for the health and safety arrangements of subordinates (if any) and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises.
