Field Engineer

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented **Field Engineer - Electrical **to join our team

**POSITION OVERVIEW**:
Responsibility for Parsons’s **Field Engineering **for SAPL Qiddiya Infrastructure Partner (QIDP). Responsible and accountable for ensuring that all work is in full coordination with Qiddiya Investment Company (QIC) and with other delivery partners. QIC is providing strategic direction for all partners in the three-way partnership with other partners on a city-wide basis. Reports directly to the **Construction Manager.**

**SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Assists in the daily engineering responsibilities
- Coordinates the work, and be responsible for ensuring all project deliverables are in conformance with the technical specifications of the contract
- Assists resolving design and field construction problems, attend progress meetings and reports on project status. Expedite design and field changes. Review contractor requests for change, and when appropriate, assist in the preparation of contract change orders/modifications.
- Join conducted inspections to determine if work has been done in accordance with contract specifications; and if the construction supervision responsibilities (of others) are being followed.
- Inspects electrical installations for proper grounding, circuit integrity, and adherence to standard regulations.
- Provides general inspection on all construction tasks to ensure professional workmanship.
- Reviews equipment alignment and balancing operations.
- Identifies to the Construction Manager the need for additional testing or repeat testing as required.
- Participates in the development of quality control reports and procedures
- Participates in development of job safety practices
- Prepare the needed progress reports.
- Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Reviews contractor as-builts for compliance with contract documents
- Participates in construction progress meetings, readiness review meetings, third-party coordination meetings, design coordination meetings and other construction meetings. Draft up the meeting minutes
- Participates in all submittal review, RFIs, claim reviews and responses
- Monitors and reports on construction progress, and participate in meetings
- Ensures compliance with applicable quality programs
- Provides technical scope and justification for contract changes, and complete other tasks as assigned.
- Examine and report on the Contractors proposed methods and program.
- Witness the commissioning of the electrical installations, and for the witnessing of acceptance tests by all concerned parties and government departments.
- Monitor and keep record of 1. Labor and supervision on site. 2. Plant and equipment on site. 3. Activities started during month. 5. Activities completed during the month. 6. Major deliveries to site. 7. Changes, delay, and difficulties 8. Any discrepancies between the works and the requirements of the Contract Documents.
- Make sure that the supervision consultant and the Contractor plan for the commissioning of the electrical installations, and for the witnessing of acceptance tests by all concerned parties and government departments.

**PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE**:

- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline with minimum 7 years’ experience in power transmission projects (High voltage substations, underground cables & Overhead transmission lines projects), specifically delivery & management experience across multi-disciplinary teams.
- Familiar with local & International engineering procedures, specifications, and technical data manuals.
- Familiar with planning and scheduling methods/software and project accountability
- Experience in large projects and with large engineering, construction, or EPC companies
- Advantageous to have extensive experience of significant PM/CM contracts.
- Project Management Certified is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.

- Must function effectively under time constraints, schedule workload to meet deadlines, and have the ability to prioritize.
- Strong Contractor Management skills.
