**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Saudi Maintenance and Supply Chain Management Company (SMSCMC), a BAE Systems majority owned joint venture Company as Physical Logistics Manager.

The Physical Logistics Manager will support the Head of Supply Chain in managing and coordinating activity within the Tornado Support Service (TSS). The role will cover the Physical Logistics element of the service, to include Warehousing & Transportation.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

Provide leadership and direction to the Physical Logistics team in order to deliver agreed deliverables. Influence on direction also extends to customers, service providers and partnerships

Manage and maintain effective working relationships with all Supply Chain stakeholders and the wider maintenance organisation to ensure collaboration between the areas to meet business needs.

Ensure the effective leadership of Physical Logistics activities by setting delivery targets, monitoring progress and developing performance improvement programmes.

Responsible for: management reviews; the assessment of escalated issues for impact on Continuing Airworthiness and generating effective resolution, or sponsoring escalation to senior management, as appropriate.

To adhere to BAE Systems Saudi Arabia processes and policies with respect to ITAR.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

The post holder must be a highly experienced Physical Logistics Manager possessing a current and thorough knowledge and understanding of Military Aerospace Supply Chain, preferably been gained from working within or closely with BAE Systems in a range of appointments.

He should have a relevant qualification in the supply chain discipline at HND level and, preferably, membership of a professional organisation, eg. CILT.

He will have expert leadership, delegation and team building skills, proven within a fast paced dynamic environment.

He will possess Project Management experience and will have had direct exposure to customers, ideally within the Middle East.

He will possess excellent verbal and written English language communication skills.

He will have the ability to influence management to ensure achievement of key project objectives.

He will have the capability to absorb, manipulate and analyse large amounts of data and be able to identify the key issues arising from it.

He will be highly numerate with commercial aptitude and ability to act upon own initiative, utilising creative thinking and analytical methods.
