**Reports To**: Project Manager / Drilling Manager

**Job Purpose**

To supervise and coordinate all exploration drilling operations (diamond, RC, and other methods) ensuring safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of drilling programs as per project requirements, client standards, and Saudi regulatory guidelines.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Planning & Supervision**:

- Oversee day-to-day drilling activities for mineral exploration projects.
- Plan drilling operations, allocate resources, and monitor performance.
- Ensure drilling schedules, depth, and core recovery meet project requirements.
- Supervise drill crews, helpers, and contractors.
- **Safety & Compliance**:

- Enforce compliance with Saudi mining regulations, environmental standards, and company HSE policies.
- Conduct regular safety toolbox talks and risk assessments.
- Ensure safe handling of equipment, explosives, and drilling fluids.
- **Technical & Operational Control**:

- Monitor drilling parameters, penetration rates, and sample/core quality.
- Troubleshoot operational issues such as equipment breakdowns, lost circulation, or core recovery problems.
- Verify geological logging and sample collection integrity.
- Ensure drilling consumables and equipment are maintained and properly used.
- **Reporting & Documentation**:

- Maintain accurate drilling records (daily reports, production logs, incident reports).
- Communicate progress, issues, and recommendations to project/geology team.
- Track and control drilling costs, fuel usage, and material consumption.
- **Team Leadership**:

- Train and mentor drillers, assistants, and junior staff.
- Promote teamwork, discipline, and efficiency among the crew.
- Manage work shifts and manpower allocation.

**Qualifications & Experience**
- Diploma/Degree in Mining, Geology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum **7-10 years of drilling experience**, with at least **3-5 years in a supervisory role**.
- Hands-on experience in **diamond core drilling, reverse circulation (RC), and other exploration drilling techniques**.
- Knowledge of **Saudi mining laws, Aramco/SABIC/Ministry of Industry & Mineral Resources regulations** is preferred.
- Strong background in **HSE management**.
- Proficiency in drilling software and reporting tools (Deswik, Micromine, LogChief, or similar) is an advantage.
- Valid driving license (Saudi/GCC preferred).
