**Your key duties**

We are looking to recruit a Director of Infrastructure who will be a key member of our Infrastructure team to help continue the build of a high performing multi-disciplinary team to lead projects and Client relationships for our projects in the Middle East, and potentially across the world. If you are ready to further your career and take on greater responsibility, this role offers fantastic opportunities to take on management roles for large multi-disciplinary projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Leading the delivery of major infrastructure and buildings projects.
- Leading a diverse infrastructure team (7-10 no.) in the delivery of secured projects.
- The role will support the delivery of our cities, buildings and advisory work and assist with Client management.
- There will be the need to work closely with the cities teams located in UAE and UK and the role will involve developing deep relationships with the same.
- Taking the lead on developing and maintaining work winning relationships in the region to support future project pipeline including preparing bid submissions and fee proposals.
- Provide technical leadership to the team in the delivery of ongoing cities work including disciplines such as transport, water, infrastructure and energy.
- Balancing demands and priorities, whilst carrying out and reviewing civil infrastructure design, from project proposition through to construction. Plan project resources and finances and monitor job financial performance
- The management of technical staff, with responsibility for planning team workload, as well as assisting and mentoring staff where needed, and developing more junior team members. Identifying opportunities to grow the team and bring new skills into the team
- Overseeing the technical management and performance the infrastructure team with particular emphasis on quality
- Preparing and reviewing technical reports, specification, and schedules.

**Your skills and experience**

- A track record of winning and delivering work in core infrastructure disciplines (Highways, utilities, or civil engineering)
- Experience of successful multidisciplinary project delivery and leadership; demonstrating both the ability to manage and motivate the team, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills
- Technical background in infrastructure design, with a demonstrable track record of leading infrastructure design or specialist discipline
- Lead client meetings on single and multi-disciplinary project/portfolio related matters. Play a lead role in negotiating outcomes on behalf of Buro Happold and mentoring more junior members on how best to do this.
- Lead and deliver multiple solutions to challenges, articulating the benefits and shortfalls of each to the client, taking into consideration other discipline's requirements within these solutions and identifying opportunities to promote other Buro Happold service offerings, where appropriate.
- A desire to lead continuous quality improvement in our work
- Significant experience in project management and delivery
- Good IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, AutoCAD as well as experience in AutoCAD, Civils 3D and GIS
- Degree qualification in a relevant Engineering discipline
- A registered member of a relevant professional institution.
- Experience in Middle East or a willingness to learn, Understanding of relevant Middle East codes, policies, regulations and market
