**JOB PURPOSE**

BAE Systems is the UK Government’s nominated Prime Contractor under the Government-to-Government arrangements that are in place to provide equipment, support and training to Saudi Arabia. We provide maintenance of Royal Saudi Air Force aircraft and train RSAF personnel safely in a training environment in how to use their aircraft, equipment and weapons.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**

**BAE Systems Arabian Industries (Capability) operates two main streams of business, one being Training Solutions and the other being Technical Capability Services for the provision of manpower.

The Training Solutions capability provides training solutions throughout the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Traditionally primarily focused on providing training solutions to BAE Systems Saudi Arabia (BAESSA) and its customers. Training solutions provided to BAESSA and its customers have ranged from English language training and complex technical training programmes through to Learning & Development programmes for BAESSA staff with a throughput of approximately 3500 trainees / delegates per year.

In support of the KSA 2030 Vision, the organisation is expanding into the external training market in KSA across the Air and Maritime sectors. To achieve this strategy, the business has further expanded its training operations through establishing and operating training academies in Jeddah and Riyadh. In addition training is delivered at customer sites in KSA including Taif and Tabuk under the responsibility of the Director - Training Solutions.

This strategy requires partnerships with the Kingdom’s Technical Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC), Colleges of Excellence (COE), and other key players in the Kingdom who are driving the strategic direction for the Kingdoms future workforce capabilities. The company has also obtained General Authority for Civil Aviation (GACA) approval for delivery of civil aviation training within the sector. The job holder therefore plays a key role in supporting business development activities, both in liaising with the authorities with regards to the training being delivered and also providing support in the design and development of new training offerings to new and existing customers.

The Director - Training Solutions role is accountable for ensuring the effective and efficient operational delivery of the Riyadh and Jeddah training academies, and where training is delivered from customer bases, that governance requirements are applied and maintained at each academy, and that each academy achieves all operational and financial performance targets Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The role also provides direct input into the Management Committee through the Development & Training Director.

**RECRUITMENT SPECIFICATION**

**The Director - Training Solutions is accountable for leading the operational delivery of all Training Solutions activities at Riyadh, Jeddah and from customer sites including Taif and Tabuk, and for ensuring:

- All BAE Systems Operational Framework requirements applicable to Training Solutions are established, implemented and maintained at a green level of compliance with a target for blue where applicable.
- All relevant policies, systems and processes are established and implemented to meet corporate, regulatory, legislative and awarding bodies requirements across all training operational delivery activities.
- The design, development and delivery of training solutions products and services.
- All activities and resources required to produce targeted Training Solutions operational delivery activities are identified and implemented within required timeframes.
- Output performance in accordance with contractor requirements and allocated budget meeting / exceeding budgeted profitability.
- Programme Management of Training Solutions operational delivery activities achieve or exceed
- operational and financial KPIs.
- Each training academy / training team operating throughout KSA does so to a prescribed set of safety and quality indicators, thereby ensuring consistency in the delivery of training solutions and protection of the BAE Systems reputation and contracts.
- Innovative training methodologies are continuously developed and implemented to provide a competitive advantage.
- Customer satisfaction through contractor delivery performance.
- Strategic partnerships are strengthened through the Training Solutions operational delivery activities being seen by the KSA government and industry as ‘best-in-class’.
