Field Engineer - VSAT & Network

Overview of Position:
Field Engineers perform both customer on-site and remote based technical services, including installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of satellite and terrestrial communications equipment both domestically and internationally.

Field engineers service equipment across all verticals such as Government, Energy, Maritime, Yacht and Ferry and Enterprise.

What you will do:

- Install, maintain and troubleshoot satellite and communications equipment at customer sites with mínimal supervision both domestically and internationally as required.
- Able to work offshore in high pressure maritime environments on stabilized antennas.
- Carry out risk assessments and adopt safe working methods on Speedcast and client sites using QHSE policies and procedures.
- Perform planned preventative maintenance, emergency service call outs and field modification.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key clients.
- Utilize technical test equipment to perform fault identification and restoration activities.
- Assist in pre-sale support and technical proposals and solution design.
- Maintain site related data and reporting and manage document control in accordance with procedures.
- Maintain a professional attitude with a high level of presentation to the customer whist representing Speedcast.
- Position requires approximately 50% travel.

What we need from you:

- Ability to learn and work on maritime VSAT stabilized antennas, Network devices like Cisco Router ,WAP & switches, Palo Alto Firewall etc.
- Ability to learn and work on motorized land based VSAT antennas
- Capable of learning and engaging with vendor support on different hardware to increase vendor knowledge.
- Demonstrated ability in utilizing technical test tools, such as spectrum analyzers, multimeters, DC power banks.
- Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Able to communicate with people in different time zones on multiple formats of communication.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision. In some cases, such as off-peak hours, weekends, holidays, and ability to work unsupervised.
- Ability to proactively anticipate customer needs and make recommendations to meet those needs.
