**Requirements**:
**JOB PURPOSE**:

- Under the line management of the technical direction of the Structures Maintenance Supervisor, be responsible for all activities relating to earthworks (embankments & cuttings), Bridges, Culverts, Retaining Walls and Support Structures for operational equipment.
- To undertake technical visual examinations and report on findings.
- To undertake annual visual examinations of structures reporting on condition and risk rating in accordance with standards
- Undertake 3rd party interface management as part of asset protection procedure.
- Undertake on site surveys and produce remits and outputs specifications for remedial or new works.
- Review technical reports and drawings for approval and be familiar with the design and implementation phases of construction.
- Undertake audits and verification exercises relating to contractor works.
- Input risk and condition data into assert management database.
- Take responsibility for the handover and hand back processes to and from Project Teams and Works Delivery Team
- Direct routine maintenance and minor repairs to civil engineering assets
- Be on call engineer and respond to faults or incidents. Take technical lead in resolving issues.
- Check that safety, assurance, compliance, performance and business processes are followed.
- Review and make recommendations from assessment and structural engineering reports for structures and earthworks.
- Undertake site surveys and produce reports.
- Write performance specifications and remits for work to be delivered by major projects or minor works departments.
- Participate in, and lead as directed, engineering verification activities.
