Role Purpose:

- To work with a team as independent reviewer/specialist and address technical queries regarding
- interpretation and use of NEOM’s Engineering Codes & Standards related to FACTS
- To plan, oversee, and manage FACTS related engineering tasks as instructed by/in coordination with

Key Accountabilities & Activities:

- Management of design activities and coordination of workloads for the FACTS design.
- Plan, coordinate, manage and monitor the review of FACTS System deliverables produced by the Utility company and
- contractor, including reports, providing feedback to the Senior Manager/Director (ETSD) regarding progress, key issues
- and risk.
- Coordinate and manage the design review of the design consultant’s risk logs.
- team, the Independent Checking Engineer, and Independent Safety Assessors.
- Ensure the buildability of the proposed FACTS system design and suitability of materials.
- Coordinate engineering efforts in assigned areas between specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines,
- with the client, suppliers, and contractors.
- Coordinate and visit the jobsite as required, to resolve problems, interpret drawings and documents and provide
- technical support during the construction phase.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, consultants, and attend project meetings from time to time.
- Review contractor’s construction drawings, respond to technical queries and technical submittals to ensure
- compliance with design intent.
- Participate in site visits and investigations led by designers.
- Take an active role in the NEOM Stage Review and Approval Procedure.
- Chair discipline specific meetings, recording actions.
- Represent the ETSD in technical meetings and Value Engineering analysis.
- Assist in on-the-job-training of assigned personnel for FACTS design.
- Review and check work of subordinate engineers.
- Provide guidance for assured design quality and compliance with the client’s requirements, design guidelines, statutory
- requirements, local and international codes, standards and norms, and international standards of independent firms that
- are carrying out the detailed design.
- Report progress, critical issues, and risk to Technical Director.

**Requirements**:
Experience
- Electrical Engineering Degree from an accredited university with 10+ years of relevant experience in
- FACTS design management.
- Experience standardizing technology deployments and ensuring solutions are technically and financially
- feasible.
- Experience communicating (internally and externally) technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
- Experience working with engineers, and technical specialists.

Knowledge
- Experience in review of all aspects of transmission feasibility Studies (Technical and economic
- Studies)
- Experience in review of Energy integration Studies, Transmission Planning Studies, Grid
- Connection Studies.
- Experience in review of AC Switching Studies
- Experience in review of Network Stability study, Insulation coordination Study, Power System
- simulations and Protection studies.
- Past experience in use of PSCAD, PSS/E,PSLF,EMTP-RV etc.

**Skills**:

- Excellent analytical and creative skills.
- Ability to propose and adopt new technologies and innovative solutions into practice.
- A thoughtful and creative thinker, passionate about new technologies, research, and development,
- and not afraid of getting hands dirty.
- Proficiency in English (required).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.

- technical colleagues.
- Ability to interact with all levels including senior management and influence decision-making.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline Master’s Degree, or PhD in a related field is a plus.
- Membership of a professional association is a plus.
