**Job Overview**

**Duties**
- Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, and styling pets according to breed standards and client preferences.
- Assess the condition of pets' coats and skin, identifying any issues that may require veterinary attention.
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming area, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized after each use.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners about their pets' needs and grooming options.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during grooming sessions, ensuring their comfort throughout the process.
- Assist with any necessary animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both the pet and the groomer.
- Keep accurate records of grooming services performed on each pet, including any special instructions or observations for future visits.

**Skills**
- Proficiency in pet grooming techniques for various breeds.
- Strong dog handling skills with experience in animal care and restraint.
- Background in veterinary assistance or technician roles is highly desirable.
- Experience with equine care is a plus.
- Excellent customer service skills to foster positive relationships with clients.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when handling larger breeds or equipment.
- Knowledge of pet care practices including feeding, bathing, and general maintenance of pet hygiene.
- Previous kennel experience is beneficial for understanding animal behavior in a professional setting.
