Job purpose:
The post holder is responsible for actively supporting the delivery of Naval Specialty Training in the Operations field at the Technical Institute for Naval Studies (TINS). This includes classroom, Operations laboratory/workshop and Marina Support Facility requirements relevant to the elements of Naval Specialty Training.

**Responsibilities**:
The post holder is responsible for:

- assisting the NST Warfare Instructors in specialist practical training,
- ensuring the welfare of students in assigned areas during training activities and support the monitoring of student performance so that each individual achieves maximum progress towards the training objectives,
- ensuring all classroom, laboratory and workshop practical demonstrations and exercises are setup prior to the commencement of each lesson,
- ensuring that all training material is prepared and available,
- maintaining specific equipment in assigned areas,
- providing support and supervision during student assessments and evaluation exercises, and supervision of any remedial training as required,
- liaising with the NST Warfare Instructors on best practice to contribute and support the planned delivery of lessons,
- providing feedback and counselling to students regarding their academic performance and behavior as required,
- maintaining standard operating procedures during lessons, including the maintenance of discipline,
- operating complex training aids, equipment and simulators as required within assigned work areas.

In addition to the above, the post holder will be well motivated, adaptable and flexible to enable the post holder to operate in a complex technical environment, where the integration of a wide range of technical skills is necessary to ensure the prime objectives of NTT are met, with minimum supervision.

A sound knowledge in the operation and use of IT systems to support classroom activities and well developed planning and organisational skills to meet the precise timings required by the training programme.

The post holder will be expected to operate to a standard of absolute integrity and professionalism.

The post holder will ensure the completion of any other reasonable request by their line manager, which aligns with Company business.

Job Requirements:
essential

The post holder must:

- have an overall assessed English Language ability to IELTS 4.0. The minimum speaking pillar is to be 4.0 and a minimum of IELTS 2.5 in the three remaining pillars, achieved within the last 2 years.

desirable

The post holder should:

- hold a diploma or equivalent in a Warfare technical discipline,
- be a graduate of an advanced military trade school or a civilian training establishment and have 3 years practical experience across a range of technical and engineering or applicable experience within the Warfare Department instructional areas,
- a minimum of 1 years’ experience delivering training via OJT,
- have a recognized train the trainer qualification.
