You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and technicians to develop AV solutions that meet the specific needs and objectives of each project. Your responsibilities will include designing system layouts, selecting and specifying AV equipment, coordinating installation, and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
**Responsibilities**
- Client Consultation: Collaborate with clients to understand their audiovisual needs, project goals, and budgetary requirements. Conduct site visits to assess the space and identify any specific considerations or limitations.
- System Design: Design customized audiovisual systems based on client requirements and project specifications. Develop detailed system layouts, including equipment placement, cable routing, and power distribution. Incorporate industry best practices and standards to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
- Equipment Selection and Specification: Select and specify appropriate AV equipment, including projectors, displays, audio systems, control systems, video conferencing solutions, and other related components. Consider factors such as performance, compatibility, scalability, and budget constraints.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including system diagrams, equipment schedules, wiring diagrams, and user manuals. Ensure accuracy and clarity in conveying system design and technical details to stakeholders, installers, and end users.
- Collaboration with Project Team: Work closely with architects, engineers, interior designers, and other professionals involved in the project. Coordinate with the team to integrate AV system requirements into the overall building design and construction process.
- Vendor Management: Source and evaluate AV equipment vendors, review product specifications, and negotiate pricing and terms. Build and maintain relationships with suppliers and stay updated on the latest AV technologies and products.
- Installation Oversight: Provide technical guidance and support to installation teams during the implementation phase. Ensure that the installation aligns with the design specifications, industry standards, and client expectations.
- Testing and Commissioning: Conduct thorough testing and commissioning of AV systems to ensure functionality, performance, and user-friendliness. Troubleshoot any technical issues, fine-tune system settings, and train end users on system operation.
- Quality Control and Compliance: Perform quality control checks to ensure that the installed AV systems meet the design specifications and industry standards. Ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety guidelines.
- Continuous Learning and Professional Development: Stay updated on emerging trends, advancements, and best practices in AV technology, design, and integration. Participate in training programs, industry conferences, and workshops to enhance technical knowledge and skills.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Audiovisual Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in AV system design and integration, preferably in a professional AV design firm or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of audiovisual technologies, including audio systems, video systems, control systems, and signal routing.
- Proficiency in AV system design software, such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Familiarity with industry standards, including audiovisual installation guidelines, cabling standards, and audiovisual signal processing.
- Excellent understanding of networking concepts, IP-based AV systems, and audiovisual control protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to develop innovative solutions for complex AV design challenges.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with clients, project teams, and vendors.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in system design and documentation.
- Project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to lift and carry heavy cabling equipment and work in confined spaces.
