**WHAT YOU WILL DO**
We are looking for enthusiastic and passionate teachers for Grades level (1 - 6). The role involves being a holistic instructor, participating in continuous development, working with parents, interacting with other teachers, and professional conduct.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
**Leadership**:
- Support the school leadership in achieving the vision, mission, values and aims of the school
- Be a positive role model by setting high personal and professional expectations in learning and teaching and by creating a strongly interactive, enjoyable and stimulating learning environment
- Develop and commit to a clear personal and professional goal program for the academic year that is consistent with the Finnish curriculum
- Follow school administrative policies and procedures
**Curriculum**:
- Implement the school’s Finnish curriculum, both in content and pedagogy, including: inquiry-based learning, multidisciplinary, integrated, project-based
- Meet with other Grades teachers to develop consistency and curriculum continuity between all grade levels and facilitate transitions
- Prioritize learning as fun and enjoyable
- Differentiate learning materials and methods for individual student abilities
- Create learning opportunities by incorporating field tips, visiting speakers, varied teaching styles and resources
**Assessment for Learning and Assessment of Learning**:
- Implement the school assessment policy which includes standardization procedures to ensure the reliability and validity of the school’s grading systems
- Develop and implement assessment criteria in line with the Finnish curriculum
**Safety**:
- Promote the safe use of school facilities and resources
- Report any maintenance or health and safety concerns directly to the relevant administrator
- Promote the use of informed and safe use of technology
**Professionally**:
- Be an active part of the Hei Schools Team—endeavour to create a positive, friendly professional working environment where all staff are equally valued
- Be actively involved with Team meetings, and School activities and events
- Maintain confidentiality regarding students, staff and our community at all times
- Engage in peer observation and co-teaching, supporting peers
- Engage with current research articles, blogs, or other venues of Professional Development
**Students**— you are responsible for the academic, social and emotional well-being of children in your class:
- Take time the first six weeks of school to develop relationship and classroom & School (library, hallways, playground, and cafeteria) expectations and behaviors
- Communicating positively and empathically with students on a personal basis, by listening to them and being observant, supportive and proactive
- Create and maintain positive learning environments where students are actively and collaboratively engaged in learning
- Give constructive, positive feedback to students through dialogue
- Establish and monitor clear **homework** expectations and feedback assessments
- Create and review regularly Individual Student Learning Plans
- Keep accurate, complete **records** of the attendance & progress of each student in the approved locations with permissions granted as per School policy
- Maintain the students’ Portfolios
**Whole School Development**:
- Actively participate on any assigned School-wide or HEI Schools Team(s)
**Communication**:
- Develop relationships with parents/guardians
- Display student work within classrooms and shared areas
