Implement cost accounting policies and procedures to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting
- Track and record actual costs incurred by various departments, ensuring all expenses are accurately documented in the financial system.
- Determine and classify fixed costs and variable costs to support financial planning and reporting.
- Analyze cost variances by comparing actual costs with budgeted to identify discrepancies and improve cost control measures.
- Manage and monitor fixed assets financially including assets count takes, depreciation, disposal, retirement, transfer, and reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize cost efficiency throughout the organization.
- Evaluate cost-saving opportunities and recommend operational improvements accordingly.
- Assist in preparing budgets, forecasts, and cost estimates processes by providing accurate cost projections.
- Analyze the financial viability of potential investment opportunities, performing potential cost implications of new initiatives or changes in operations, ROI calculations, and risk assessments to help guide decision-making.
- Maintain cost accounting records and ensure they align with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Prepare and submit cost reports to financial planning & budgeting manager on cost control activities, cost forecasts, variances and challenges
- Stay updated on industry trends and regulations to inform cost accounting strategies and decisions.
