Overview / Responsibilities:
Wood is recruiting a Senior Structural Designer, to further increase the capacity and knowledge base of the well - established Civil / Structural Engineering department. This will give you the opportunity to work on a wide range of Wood projects
- Has experience in the hydrocarbon processing / utilities units, the oil / gas industry or refinery or infrastructure project / process industries and has engineering design experience on large projects
- Has demonstrated capabilities in designing independently with minimum supervision
- Has experience with development, enhancement, and maintenance of 3D graphic visual display and modelling work
- Must have working knowledge of project QA / QC requirements
- Must have knowledge of engineering practices, design details, international codes and standards, procedures, and specifications
- Has experience in preparation of bill of materials
- Experienced designer with sound technical background and in - depth knowledge of manual and CAD drafting techniques
- Experienced in drafting of civil projects
- Experienced in basic knowledge in industry codes, procedures, specifications, and standards
- Assists the design supervisor in coordinating design management with engineering discipline lead engineers
- Responsible for preparing and review of calculations, design drawings, and other information
- Supports construction and procurement with preparation of drawings and material take - offs
- Reviews as - built drawings and assists with collection of design information required by construction and procurement
- Provide guidance to Designer and CADD operators
- Conversant with codes of practice, standards, and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to drafting function
- Familiar with and competent in planning, progress monitoring, forecasting, and reporting for drafting function
- Experienced in the supervision of discipline designers and draftsmen
- Able to estimate man - hours and materials for delegated aspects of work
- Able to liaise with project / lead engineers at all levels
- Computer literate (database / spreadsheets)
- Conversant with company and Client drafting standards and specifications
- Conversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to drafting function
- Familiar with quality control systems in engineering design
- Experienced With 3 - D Drafting knowledge, preferred
- Must have knowledge of civil design practices, basic calculations, design details, international codes, and standards

Skills / Qualifications:

- Minimum 10 years of relevant Experience
- Engineering Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Equivalent
- Should be proficient in Microsoft office software
- Occasional field visits, coordination and data gathering
- Potential assignment as Project Designer
- Should also be familiar with editing, opening, and reading drawings in AutoCAD / Microstation / REVIT
