Tasks/responsibilities

Analyze and assess relevant environmental issues and legal compliance requirements in relation to our integrated project operations such as air and water quality, turbidity, (underwater) sound, terrestrial and marine fauna and flora, soil contamination, waste management.
Maintenance and installation of environmental monitoring buoys and silt screens with support of the operational team.
Diligently tracking and supervising on-site activities carried out by (environmental) subcontractors (e.g., execution of monitoring activities; waste management).
Follow-up of environmental emergencies and conducting subsequent investigations.
Explore, report, and manage all relevant environmental aspects as mentioned in Contractor’s Environmental and Social Management Plan (CESMP).
Support-advice on relevant environmental engineering (including mitigation and monitoring) during execution phase - embedded within a global environmental management system.
Initiate, deploy, and consolidate effective environmental awareness amongst site personnel by providing inspirational support, inductions, and toolboxes.
Maintain and report workplace health and safety compliance.
Execution of activities without endangering quality, health, environment, safety, and security.
Work and act in accordance with the applicable QHSE-S instructions and measures, take appropriate measures in case of accidents and hazardous situations.
Qualifications & Required Experience

A generalist environmental background and understanding on a series of relevant environmental topics associated with marine and dry earth works.
A minimum of 3 years relevant work experience; preferably in the construction industry; with experience in the Middle East.
Able to work efficiently, with analytical mind setting, critical accuracy and operational common sense (to understand-solve-manage environmental challenges along all the project phases; from start-up to demobilization phase).
Both self-employed problem solver and strong team-player.
Able to communicate and express yourself fluently in spoken and written English, Arabic is a plus.
