Mechanical Engineer

**Job Summary**:
Euro Group a leading provider of construction supervision and project management services, seeks a highly experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of proven experience and specialized expertise in chilled water networks to join our team overseeing the prestigious Islamic World District development project in Madinah, Saudi Arabia. You will be responsible for ensuring the chilled water system is installed and commissioned to the highest quality standards, in strict accordance with the approved design and specifications. This role demands a strong technical background in chilled water systems combined with proven supervisory skills within a demanding construction environment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide on-site construction supervision of chilled water network installation, ensuring compliance with the approved design, specifications, and contract documents. This includes reviewing and approving contractor submittals, shop drawings, and method statements specific to the chilled water system.
- Conduct regular and rigorous site inspections to monitor progress, identify potential problems specific to chilled water systems (e.g., leaks, pressure drops, insulation issues), and ensure quality workmanship. This involves detailed inspection reports and proactive problem-solving related to chilled water technology.
- Enforce adherence to project schedules, budget constraints, and quality standards, paying close attention to the unique requirements and challenges of chilled water network construction. This includes monitoring contractor performance and addressing deficiencies promptly.
- Manage and resolve construction-related issues and challenges efficiently, specifically those related to the chilled water system. This includes facilitating communication between the contractor, engineering consultancy, and other stakeholders.
- Monitor and report on the contractor's performance, taking appropriate action to ensure timely completion and adherence to project requirements for the chilled water network.
- Ensure the contractor's strict adherence to all applicable Saudi Arabian building codes, regulations, and safety standards related to chilled water systems. This includes proactive safety oversight and risk management specific to the hazards of chilled water work.
- Maintain comprehensive site records, including daily reports, inspection reports, and non-conformance reports specific to the chilled water network. This involves meticulous documentation and record-keeping.
- Liaise effectively with the client's representatives, the engineering consultancy (if applicable), and other stakeholders, communicating technical aspects of chilled water systems clearly and concisely.
- Prepare and submit regular progress reports to the project manager, highlighting any significant issues or risks related to the chilled water network. This requires proactive identification and reporting of potential problems.
- Collaborate with other disciplines (civil, electrical, etc.) within the supervision team, ensuring seamless integration of the chilled water system into the overall project.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
- Minimum of 10 years' proven experience in mechanical engineering, with significant expertise in the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of chilled water networks. Experience in the Middle East is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and motivate contractors and subcontractors in a construction environment.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, pumps, chillers, cooling towers, and related equipment, with a strong emphasis on chilled water technology.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications related to chilled water systems.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Proficiency in using relevant software for construction supervision and reporting.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language proficiency is highly advantageous.
