Jacobs is supporting a government organisation to help modernize and develop its communications network and part of this strategy is the implementation & upgrade of the Nationwide Fibre Network. This includes the design, installation supervision & commissioning of fibre optic projects across multiple locations (Central, East, and West) within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

As the Technical Consultant (Infrastructure & Transmission) the main areas of responsibility include passive telecoms & data centre infrastructure, backbone fibre, and structured cabling.

The Installation Design Engineer will be required to be the project delivery team point of contact for ISP/OSP related aspects and prepare ISP/OSP Scope of Works (SoW) documents.

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:
Key responsibilities & experience

Performing the following functions within the areas of responsibility:

- Resolution of technical queries
- Review & sentencing of concessions
- Review & sentencing of change requests
- Review & sentencing of risk assessments / method statements
- Support to incident investigation & resolution
- Review & endorsement of governance documentation
- Advise on requirements definition
- Advise on test & acceptance processes/procedures
- Advise on data management
- New infrastructure/cabling proposals
- Infrastructure/cabling repair proposals
- International and national standards
- Industry best practice
- IT service management practices
- CAD software (Autodesk suite) and drawing management

Supported by the following desirable qualifications:

- BICSI Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
- BICSI Data Centre Design Consultant (DCDC)
- Certified TIA-942 Design Consultant (CTDC)
- Certified TIA-942 Internal Auditor (CTIA)
- Educated to bachelor’s degree level or higher in a relevant discipline.
