head hostess is to oversee the operations of the front of the house in a restaurant. This includes greeting guests, seating them, taking their orders, and coordinating with the kitchen staff to ensure that their food is served promptly and correctly. The head hostess is also responsible for managing the reservations system and ensuring that the dining room runs smoothly.

The head hostess is the first point of contact for guests, so it is important that they have a warm and friendly personality. They must be able to multitask and be organized in order to keep the dining room running smoothly. The head hostess must also be able to handle customer complaints in a professional manner, positive attitude.
- Greeting guests as they enter, and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
- Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
- Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
- Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
- Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
- Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
- Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.
- A knowledge of the menu.
- Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
- Providing great customer service.
- Salary is negotiable.
