An In Room Dining Order Taker plays a key role in ensuring guests receive prompt and accurate room service. Here are the typical day-to-day activities for this position:
**Day-to-Day Activities of an In Room Dining Order Taker**

**Handling Guest Orders**:
Answering phone calls from guests placing in-room dining orders.

Taking detailed and accurate orders, including any special requests or dietary restrictions.

**Inputting Orders**:
Entering orders into the hotel's point-of-sale (POS) system to ensure they are communicated to the kitchen and service staff.

Verifying order details to prevent any mistakes or misunderstandings.

**Coordinating with Kitchen and Service Staff**:
Communicating with the kitchen to ensure timely preparation of orders.

Coordinating with service staff to ensure prompt delivery of food and beverages to guest rooms.

**Providing Menu Information**:
Offering guests information about the menu, including daily specials, ingredients, and preparation methods.

Making recommendations based on guest preferences and dietary needs.

**Upselling and Promoting Services**:
Suggesting additional items or upgrades to enhance the guest's dining experience.

Informing guests about special promotions or seasonal offerings.

**Handling Guest Inquiries and Complaints**:
Addressing any questions or concerns guests may have about their orders.

Resolving issues promptly and professionally, ensuring guest satisfaction.

**Maintaining Records**:
Keeping accurate records of all orders and transactions.

Preparing reports on in-room dining activities and guest feedback.

**Ensuring Compliance with Health and Safety Standards**:
Following all health and safety regulations related to food handling and service.

Ensuring that all orders are prepared and delivered in a hygienic manner.

**What we need from you**

Ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

- Bachelor’s degree, higher education qualification or equivalent in Hotel Administration / Business Administration
- Two to Three years’ prior tenure in a similar role
- International luxury hotel chain background
- GCC exposure
- English Fluency is required
- Arabic Fluency is preferred
