Associate Director - Data Foundation - Business

The role is responsible to design, build and maintain the data pipelines and tools that support democratizing data across the organization to enable data driven decision making. He/she will collaborate with Data Scientists, Product teams and business stakeholders to transform business requirements into efficient and reliable solutions.

**Responsibilities**
- **Develop and maintain data Lakehouse solutions** leveraging Google BigQuery and Vertex AI, optimized for performance, cost-effectiveness, and advanced analytics.
- **Lead the Design and development of robust data pipelines** (streaming, batch, API endpoints) for efficient data collection, transformation, and analysis.
- **Ensure data solutions are secure** and compliant with industry regulations, supporting detailed reporting and self-service analytics.
- **Implement best practices for data quality, consistency, and integrity** across the entire data infrastructure.
- **Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting frameworks** to ensure data pipeline reliability and performance.
- **Collaborate with stakeholders** to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
- **Conduct code reviews and drive continuous improvement** in development processes.
- **Enable secure sharing of data** through data marketplaces, maintaining data catalogs and lineage.
- **Document data solutions**, ensuring operational knowledge is accessible organization-wide.
- **Mentor and guide a team of data engineers**, fostering innovation and collaboration
- Perform any other duties assigned to by the line manager related to the nature of the work.
- Enforce, incorporate, and comply with all necessary controls and related information security policies, procedures, practices, training, reporting, personal due diligence, and vigilance, within departmental/unit activities and operations

**Qualifications**

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor's degree from a recognized university.
- Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer certification.

**Years & Nature of Experience**
- Would have 8 to 10 years of equivalent experience in designing and implementing data pipelines using Google Cloud or other public cloud platforms.
- Deep expertise in Google Cloud technologies such as BigQuery, Data Fusion, DataForm, DataFlow, Cloud Composer, DataPlex, Dataproc, Analytics Hub etc.
- Strong understanding of data governance principles, including security, compliance, and privacy by design.
