**Responsible for:
**Accountabilities and Expected Outcomes**

The purpose of this role is to manage the operational planning and supervision necessary to ensure quality and safety for the timely completion of: Small to medium mining related projects, installation and maintenance of mining operating systems including underground back fill systems, and the oversight of mining contractor activities.

This role has a Collateral working relationship with the following
- The Mine Manager, Underground Mining Team, Human Resources, Training & Development, Underground Mining Contractor, Onsite Explosives Police, Explosives Supplier and Other external contractors.

**KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS TO ACHIEVE OBJECTIVES**

Compliance / Governance: Safety & Health, Environment, and Community Management System, legal, regulatory, security, budget, company values:

- Within areas of responsibility, ensure customers are aware of and comply with:

- Compliance with all applicable MBCC policies and procedures.

Key Accountabilities
- **Safety**:

- Ensure that work is conducted in a safe manner
- Participate in the ongoing improvement of operation’s EH&S plan and visibly and constantly support and influence its implementation and acceptance by our employees
- Ensure prompt reporting of all injuries, illness, and safety incidents
- Coach/mentor subordinates in the safe facilitation of their tasks
- **Administration**:

- Monitor cost allocation and expenditure.
- Control the day-works undertaken by the contractor on a daily basis.
- Implement processes to ensure that post expenditure evaluations are completed for all significant projects.
- Ensure that all information provided by the mining contractor in the compilation of the sites production targets is timely, accurate, understandable and adequately and accurately documented.
- Develop and implement long term strategies
- Utilise the company Performance Management process to train, develop and maintain a highly skilled team.
- Communicate our vision, goals and objectives
- **Technical**:

- Ensure that effective systems are in place to provide sound and timely data.
- Develop close working relationships with all customers
- Ensure that the contractor receives the required technical support and documentation for them to undertake the work required.
- Engender a strong working relationship between the technical and support team in MBCC and the contractor.
- Visit all work areas on a daily basis to ensure safety and quality standards are being met.
- Monitor the mine physicals to ensure that the contractor is following the plan.
- Ensure contractor work is completed to contractual quality assurance quality control standards
- Facilitate any interaction between other contractors, consultants and statutory personnel with the underground and the main contractor.

**DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE**:
**Education**
- High School Certificate
- UG Supervisors Certificate

**Experience**
- 10 years Underground Mining
- Demonstrate Advance Practical Skill as an UG Equipment Operator
- Minimum 5 Years Shift Boss / Foreman
- International Experience
- Worked Mining Contractor
- UG Back fill CRF and Paste
