Riyadh, Saudi Arabia King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre Full time

This is a position for doctoral scientists with extensive diagnostic/technical experience with recognized board certification and post board experience. Leads, organizes and directs sectional activities as designated by the chairman or as required.

**Essential Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Maintains state-of-the-art methodologies and research literature for current update.
- Trains and assists personnel in the proper implementation and operations of all routine procedures.
- Verifies all quality control and proficiency testing.
- Teaches residents, students and fellows rotating in the Section.
- Undertakes clinical research as principle investigator and as co-investigator in collaboration with others.
- Promotes professional and organization development of the Section in consultation with the head of Section.
- Ensures prompt reporting of the tests done as well as maintains and updates records and statistical data on procedures performed.
- Monitors performance standards including quality assurance, quality control and troubleshooting.
- Promotes and participates in educational and training activities of the technical staff.
- Maintains an on-going program for continuing education through lectures, presentations and case slides.
- Provides consultations and interpretations pertaining to all tests performed by the laboratory.
- Coordinates the laboratory in all technical, academic and administrative aspects.
- Liaises with supervisors of the laboratory, laboratory administration and chairman with reference to staffing, evaluations, work schedule, leaves, as well as equipment.
- Operates section in accordance with JCIA, CAP and other relevant standards.
- Participates in sectional/departmental and hospital wide quality improvement plan.

**Education**:
Ph.D. and board certification in related discipline required.

**Experience Required**:
Six (6) years of directly related experience post-doctorate degree including three (3) years post board certification required.
