**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- Supervise and develop accounting and accounts payable team
- Responsible for sound internal controls, documentation of controls and transactions, and compliance with applicable accounting standards. Internal controls include account reconciliation, subledger aging controls, journal entry logs and variance analysis.
- Responsible for accurate and timely completion of monthly accounting books
- Monthly, quarterly and annual SOX compliance responsibility
- Review journal entries, accruals and month-end general ledger accounts
- Investigate anomalies and issues, as they arise.
- Support operational management as and when required.
- Report accounting information to various recipients across the organization
- Perform other duties as assigned.

**Skills**:

- Integrity, accountability, and professional and ethical attitude towards the role
- A team player who communicates well to subordinates as well as managers at all levels of the organization.
- Strong written and verbal communication in English. Arabic is also beneficial.
- Experience is managing the accounting function in large organizations
- Strong at time management and keeping deadlines.
- Proactive attitude to determine areas for improvement to enhance the organization and its control environment
- Strong understanding of IFRS standards. Understanding of US GAAP is also a plus.
- Ability to understand, evaluate and resolve complex problems, including the involvement of others in the organization when appropriate
- Business acumen and ability to understand the strategic priorities of the business
- Attention to details
- A strong analytical mindset
