**Your new role, what's involved?**
We are seeking a highly experienced and knowledgeable Senior Tunnel Expert to join our team. The Senior Tunnel Expert will play a critical role in providing technical expertise and leadership in the planning, design, and construction of tunnel projects as part of our infrastructure projects portfolio.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provide technical leadership and expertise in the planning, design, and construction of tunnels for infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and bridges.
- Lead the development and implementation of tunnel design concepts, methodologies, and solutions, ensuring compliance with project requirements, codes, and standards.
- Conduct feasibility studies, site investigations, and risk assessments for tunnel projects, evaluating geological, geotechnical, environmental, and other factors.
- Collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to define project objectives, scope, and specifications for tunnel design and construction.
- Lead the preparation and review of tunnel design documents, including drawings, specifications, calculations, and technical reports, ensuring accuracy and quality.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project managers, engineers, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle, including tendering, procurement, and construction phases.
- Conduct technical reviews and inspections of tunnel construction activities, materials, and equipment to ensure compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, third-party experts, and industry stakeholders on tunnel-related matters, obtaining approvals and permits as required.
- Monitor and analyze tunnel performance and condition, conducting inspections and assessments to identify maintenance and rehabilitation needs.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in tunnel design, construction, and maintenance, incorporating new methodologies and tools into project delivery processes.

**We'd love to hear from you if you have**:

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in tunnel engineering and construction, with a focus on infrastructure projects.
- Proven track record of successful tunnel projects, including design, construction, and maintenance phases.
- Strong technical expertise in tunnel engineering, geotechnical engineering, and structural engineering principles and practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in tunnel design software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, or equivalent.
- Membership in relevant professional associations or societies, such as the International Tunneling and Underground Space Association (ITA), preferred.
- Commitment to excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement in tunnel engineering and construction.
