**Urgent Requirement for Consultant in Critical Care at a Hospital in Riyadh**
**Internal Contract, Sponsored by the Ministry of Health**
**Certification from the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties**
**Responsibilities**:
- Comply with the regulations of the Medical Commission, the Code of Medical Ethics, and the laws and regulations pertaining to the medical commission.
- Provide the highest possible level of medical care to the patients under your responsibility.
- Be accountable for the clinical care of critically ill patients residing in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) according to generally accepted standards.
- Communicate and collaborate with other medical staff and colleagues who have patients in the ICU or wish to discuss medical issues related to patients in other areas of the hospital.
- Specifically supervise respiratory therapy, circulation, fluids, and nutrition related to patients in the ICU.
- Participate in the administrative organization of the ICU under the supervision of the Department Director and the ICU Consultant, and participate in the development of its rules and regulations, standards of care, and maintenance of its equipment (in collaboration with the Biomedical Engineering Department).
- Conduct reviews and investigations of drugs, equipment, physiological, and pharmaceutical matters related to critical care, and provide or participate in a consultancy service for the hospital.
- Participate in emergency services as required by the department/division.
- Teach assigned staff for training purposes, and participate with the Department Director/Division Head and ICU Consultant in planning a professional development program for trainees.
- Participate in the strategic planning and future development of the department/division and the ICU.
- Engage in activities to improve the quality of patient care (comprehensive quality medicine program, quality assessment improvement program) as applicable.
- Educate patients and/or families about matters related to the patient's condition.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities and attend educational activities to improve quality as appropriate.
- Adhere to infection control guidelines.
- Maintain confidentiality of information at all times.
**Requirements**:
- Ph.D. or fellowship with more than 5 years of experience post-qualification.
- Licensed by the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with patients and their families.
- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary work environment and under work pressure.
- Knowledge of the latest developments in medicine and medical technology related to critical care.
- Commitment to safety, quality standards, and medical ethics in medical practice.
