**Description**:
The Chief Financial Officer position will direct all financial affairs; oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of company financial systems, audit activities, and all fiscal functions to ensure they are aligned with company strategies and objectives.
This position will be responsible for all financial reporting and control, banking and maintenance of the company's overall financial well-being.
This position will be involved in both the tactical day-to-day accounting/financial management of the business as well as strategic and long term planning and implementing for growth and expansion.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, this position will be expected to develop long-term and short-term strategies to achieve corporate objectives, as well as provide counselling concerning financial implications and risks involved in various key projects, acquisition analysis and capital structure.
**Areas of responsibility include**:
- Banking, financial planning policies and controls, accounting practices, financial reporting, treasury operations, asset management, budgeting, tax planning and compliance, corporate services and internal audit.
- Establishes appropriate internal controls and procedures, consistent with the Company's size.
- Develops financial strategies by forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements; identifying monetary resources; developing action plans.
- Oversees timely close of monthly financial statements and distribution of monthly reporting package, which includes monthly and year-to-date comparison with budget, key performance metrics and written management discussion and analysis.
- Continually reviews financial performance results against plan for all functional areas, finance, administration, branch operations, sales and participates with CEO and/or other senior managers in the development of corrective programs, as and when required.
- Supervises the financial team and monitors inventory levels, payroll and other operating expenses, and operating profitability measures with a focus on improving those measures.
- Works with legal counsel as a participant in key legal decisions or other legal or contractual matters relating to the business.
Updates job knowledge by remaining aware of new regulations; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
**Required Experience**:
- A Master’s degree in business administration (MBA) and/or a professional accreditation such as a certified public accountant (CPA) - PMP Certification is a plus
- Progressive experience in financial management, including responsibility as a Controller and/or CFO
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong time management skills with emphasis on prioritization
- Strong analytical, financial accounting, strategic planning and communications skills
- A minimum of 5 or more years of financial management experience plus a minimum of 10 years of related experience preferably in a multi-location operation
- French Language is a plus
