Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

- Review and consolidate high spend business user purchase requests.
- Identify existing agreements for call-offs and when available leverage existing catalogue of frame agreement.
- Prepare RFQ/P in line with existing category strategies if available.
- Execute RFQ/P including collecting bids from participants; coordinating technical bid evaluation with Business Users / Proponents; conducting commercial bid evaluation in line with guidelines and category strategies; preparing award recommendation as part of a cross-functional team and presenting to relevant committees; negotiating with vendors as part of a cross-functional team.
- Create and dispatch Purchase Orders (materials and services) to vendors.
- Manage the claims and invoicing processes (for materials)
- Participate in supplier relationship management activities (e.g. provide input on supplier performance)
- Report Operational Procurement activities expenses against the approved budget and investigate / justify significant variances.
- Contribute to a working environment and culture which engages all Operational Procurement staff.
- Develop and coach junior operational specialists, ensuring they are adequately supported and trained in line with requirements of their role.
- Participate in the identification of staffing and recruiting needs in the operational procurement activities.
- Define performance goals at the start of the year in discussion with the Operational Procurement Manager
- Monitor work quality and escalate any operational issues in a timely manner.
- Keep abreast with professional developments, new techniques and current issues through continued education and professional growth.

**Qualifications, experience & skills**:
**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain or Engineering or equivalent level of education
- Supply Chain certification desirable

**Experience**:

- 0-2 (Senior role: 2-3) years of procurement experience in procurement in operational role
- Experience with systems and solutions used in operational procurement and in related P&SC areas
- Understanding and experience in procurement related financial and legal / contractual practices
- Basic knowledge in the mining & metals industry value chains and markets would be an asset

**Skills**:

- Ability to manage work in matrix organizations and lead cross-functional teams, especially relevant in the proposed transitory operating model (reporting to the Section Head, Procurement Materials, with daily interactions with other P&SC shared services functions)
- Strong knowledge in procurement ERPs model, in particular with regards to functionalities and use of operational procurement modules
- Communicative level of English.
