**Key Responsibilities - Accounting, Reporting & Controls**:
- Lead the month-end and quarter-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analyses.
- Prepare and review consolidated financial statements and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP; coordinate financial reporting deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.
- Oversee the maintenance and documentation of accounting policies, account mappings, and process narratives to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Manage the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls over financial reporting, including SOX readiness and testing where applicable.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, and general ledger functions; streamline workflows and implement process improvements and automation.
- Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors; prepare audit schedules, respond to inquiries, and manage remediation of audit findings.
- Develop and coach a high-performing accounting team through hiring, performance management, mentoring, and professional development plans.
- Collaborate with FP&A, tax, legal, and business unit leaders to support budgeting, forecasting, tax provision, and strategic initiatives.
- Drive continuous improvement of accounting systems and ERP integrations; partner with IT on implementations, upgrades, and system controls.
- Prepare and present monthly and quarterly accounting metrics, key performance indicators, and commentary to senior leadership.
**Required Qualifications - Controller Skills & Experience**:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility, including prior management of an accounting team in a corporate environment.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge of US GAAP; experience with revenue recognition, lease accounting, and technical disclosures.
- Demonstrated experience managing external audits and internal control programs (SOX experience preferred).
- Proficiency with ERP and accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Oracle, SAP) and advanced Excel skills; experience with accounting automation and reconciliation tools is a plus.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting topics to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven leadership skills, including team development, cross-functional collaboration, and project management.
**Preferred Qualifications - Certifications & Tools**:
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting certification strongly preferred.
- Experience in a public company or regulated industry, or with multi-entity consolidations and international accounting considerations.
- Familiarity with financial reporting tools, business intelligence platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau), and process automation technologies.
