Quality Manager

**Job Purpose / Objective**

In charge of overseeing, planning, and carrying out clinical risk management, patient safety, and quality programs created by NBCC to constantly enhance every facet of health care delivery. This includes encouraging cultural shifts that foster a high-quality environment, as well as communicating and tracking actions. Work closely and cooperatively with different delivery system functional groups to accomplish the institution's goals and objectives in accordance with NBCC Hospital's vision and mission.

**_Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities_**
- Fundamental Role
- Create Quality Policies and Strategies: Take part in creating the hospital's quality vision and mission and set up the plans and strategies required to meet safety and quality goals.
- Assure Standards and Regulation Compliance: Make sure the hospital complies with national and international quality standards (such as JCI, CBAHI, and ISO 9001), and keep an eye on changes to pertinent laws and regulations pertaining to healthcare.
- Encourage a Culture of Quality and Safety: Make an effort to encourage a culture of dedication to quality and safety among all hospital employees, from operational departments to top management.
- Gather and Examine Data: Manage the gathering and examination of quality-related data to spot patterns, problems, and opportunities for development.
- Establish Clinical Priorities: Using data analysis, concentrating on determining clinical priorities, service quality, provider input, and improvement projects.
- Use Continuous Improvement approaches: To increase operational efficiency, cut waste, and improve performance, lead and take part in quality improvement projects utilizing well-known approaches like Six Sigma, Lean, and PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act).
- Process and Audit Monitoring: Keep an eye on a range of departmental activities, including care complaints and assessments of medical records, in order to suggest ways to mitigate any risks or vulnerabilities. To guarantee compliance, carry out both internal and external audits.
- Determine hazards and Create Mitigation Plans: Determine possible hazards that might compromise patient safety or the standard of care, then create plans to reduce them.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis: To determine relevant causes and create corrective action plans, take part in root cause analysis of adverse occurrences and medical errors.
- Programs for Patient Safety: Manage patient safety initiatives, such as reporting incidents, investigating significant incidents, and creating secure systems.
- Create and Deliver Training Programs: Create and present training courses on quality principles, safety regulations, and improvement techniques to hospital employees.
- Build Capacity: Focus on enhancing different teams' quality and safety-related competencies.
- Create Reports: Create regular reports on quality performance and send them to regulatory agencies and senior management.
- Document Management: Make sure that all quality-related activities, such as plans, policies, procedures, and reports, are precisely and methodically recorded.
- Work with Multidisciplinary Teams: To accomplish organizational objectives and incorporate quality initiatives into day-to-day operations, closely coordinate with physicians, nursing staff, administration, and other departments.
- Effective Communication: Be able to communicate effectively with people at all levels both inside and outside the hospital, and clearly and persuasively convey recommendations and findings.

**Requirements**:
**Education/ Professional Qualification**
- Bachelor’s degree in medicine or nursing or Hospital Management or Administration from a recognized national or international university.

**Experience**

Minimum (5) years of experience in Quality Improvement and Patient Safety and accreditation (CBAHI, JCIA etc.) in a healthcare organization.

**Professional Licensing / Certification / Training**
- Certification: Relevant Certificates in quality management, patient Safety and Accreditation.
- CPHQ certification is preferred.
