QC Chemist / Lab Chemist (m/w/d)

**Job description**:
**I. Quality Assurance & Control**
- Quality control testing of raw materials and finished products, as per Kurita Corporate standard test methods and to ensure that these are well within specified limits
- To maintain and update all Kurita Corporate Quality Specification sheets
- Prepare lab batches for any new product introduction to ensure that all the specifications are within lab testing capabilities and as per Kurita AquaChemie standard protocol
- To actively participate in analytical methods development so as to use instruments and test methods in such a way to reduce testing time and increase productivity
- Periodically recheck and revalidate expired products and / or customer rejected materials and extend shelf life OR adjustment OR takes decision for disposal in consultation with operations manager - in order to support warehouse process to maintain healthy inventory
- Able to perform analysis of various solvents for their details boiling points - IBP, 50%, and FP along with various mixers of solvents and its study
- Provide technical assistance to Kurita AquaChemie sales personnel related to product specifications, and tests, wherever required consult with Kurita Europe Quality manager to keep confidentiality
- Familiar in handling the following minimum lab analytical equipment
- Digital Density Meters
- Densitometer
- Viscometers Manual & Auto
- Distillation units - ASTMD D 86 Manual & Auto
- Flash Point tester (open and closed cup)
- TBN &TAN testers
- FTIR Spectroscopy
- Karl Fischer (moisture analyser)
- pH, Conductivity meters
- All type of wet-lab chemical analysis and titrations
- standard solution preparation etc.

**II. Laboratory Safety, Housekeeping & Environment Stewardship**
- To ensure general EH &S conditions in laboratory. special attention to operation and
maintenance of equipment and its accessories like gas cylinders, storing flammable
chemicals etc., so as to ensure highest chemical safety standards.
- To ensure and maintain good housekeeping.
- To assume the responsibility of environmental steward in your own place

**III. QHSE Management Systems**
- To maintain all ISO QHSE related procedures and Documents pertaining to QA Laboratory
- Revise / Update whenever and wherever procedure changes are required so as to maintain current practices in QA lab, to maintain all related records
- To ensure periodic calibration of all instruments are carried out as per calibration schedule
- To maintain and revise calibration records like “list of instruments, calibration status, standard calibration solutions, traceability etc., as per ISO requirements
- To participate, help to develop and implement action plans to solve quality related problems for continual improvement

**IV. Analytical Support to Sales**
- To extend analytical service support to Kurita AquaChemie customers and sales representatives
- To prepare and perform QC check for solutions - similar to Hach type reagents and solutions for Sales force
- To analyse RO water samples, deposit samples, corrosion coupons samples, resin samples etc., for sales representatives

**Experience / Personal Skills required**:

- BSc in Chemistry
- 5-7 years of experience in water treatment specialty chemical industry
- Working knowledge on ISO 9001
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Good in MS Office
