Mechanical Engineer

-Designs, builds, and maintains the systems that transport resources like oil and gas. Key responsibilities include designing piping systems to code, conducting stress and other engineering analyses, preparing technical documents, selecting materials, and overseeing construction and quality control.

**Core responsibilities**Design and analysis**:

- Design and size piping systems, ensuring compliance with standards like ASME and API. Perform complex analyses, including pipe stress analysis using software like Caesar II, and flange/nozzle calculations.

**Technical documentation**:

- Prepare and review technical drawings, specifications, and data sheets. Maintain project documentation, such as reports, calculations, and Bill of Materials (BOM).

**Material selection**:

- Collaborate with the team to select appropriate materials based on factors like pressure, temperature, and corrosion resistance.

**Project oversight**:

- Assist in project planning, bid evaluation, and procurement phases. Oversee construction and installation activities, and work with contractors.

**Quality assurance and maintenance**:

- Support quality control activities through inspections and tests. Troubleshoot equipment failures, conduct maintenance, and perform repairs on existing systems.

**Site work**:

- Perform site surveys and may be required to work in outdoor or remote locations during construction and inspection phases.

**Skills**:

- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD.
- Experience with engineering analysis software like Caesar II.
- Strong understanding of piping codes and standards (e.g., ASME, API).
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and material science.
- Effective communication (written and verbal).
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Collaboration and teamwork abilities.
- Self-motivation and a proactive approach to project management
