Postdoctoral Position

Applications are invited for a postdoctoral researcher position in The Catalysis, Nanomaterials, and Spectroscopy lab, led by Javier Ruiz-Martinez in KAUST. We seek a person with strong background in electron microscopy to perform ELNES and EXELFS analyses on catalytic materials produced in our synthesislaboratory. The first goal is to optimize our image and probe corrected TEM (Themis-Z) to enable EEL spectroscopy (Continuum/K3 camera) operated at unconventional high energy losses. Skills in programming with Python is highly recommended since the position requires ray-tracing simulations to model the behavior of post-specimen lenses for those particular experimental conditions. The postdoc will have opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary research involving aspects of catalysis, chemistry, and material science and will further applies his EELS development for the operando EELS study of our catalytic system (DENS solution).

**Qualifications**:Prior experience with Digital Micrograph (DM scripting) and/or Hyperspy software are also appreciated.
