Operations & Maintenance Consultant

As an Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Consultant, your role is to provide expert guidance and support in optimizing the operations and maintenance activities of industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, or complex systems. You will work closely with clients, facility owners, and operators to assess current practices, identify areas for improvement, and develop strategies to enhance operational efficiency, reliability, and costeffectiveness. Your objective is to ensure that O&M practices align with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and the client's objectives.

**Responsibilities**
- O&M Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments of existing operations and maintenance practices, procedures, and systems. Evaluate equipment performance, maintenance strategies, staffing levels, training programs, and documentation to identify areas for improvement.
- Operational Efficiency: Analyze operational processes, workflows, and resource allocation to identify opportunities for efficiency gains. Develop recommendations to optimize operations, reduce downtime, minimize energy consumption, and improve overall productivity.
- Maintenance Strategy: Assess maintenance practices and strategies, including preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and corrective maintenance. Develop maintenance plans, schedules, and procedures to ensure optimal equipment performance, reliability, and longevity.
- Asset Management: Assist in the development and implementation of asset management strategies to optimize the lifecycle of equipment, infrastructure, or systems. Conduct risk assessments and develop strategies for maintenance prioritization, replacement, or refurbishment.
- Performance Monitoring: Establish performance metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and monitor the effectiveness of operations and maintenance activities. Implement systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting to track performance trends and identify areas for improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on relevant regulations, codes, and standards pertaining to the operation and maintenance of the client's industry or sector. Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- O&M Training and Development: Develop training programs and workshops to enhance the skills and knowledge of O&M staff. Provide guidance on best practices, new technologies, and emerging trends in O&M. Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development within the organization.
- O&M Documentation: Develop and maintain O&M manuals, procedures, and documentation to ensure clear and consistent practices. Provide guidance on documentation requirements for regulatory compliance, equipment specifications, maintenance records, and work instructions.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with facility owners, operators, maintenance teams, and external contractors to align objectives, share best practices, and ensure effective communication. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement O&M improvement initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Continuously monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented O&M strategies and initiatives. Seek feedback from stakeholders, conduct audits, and make adjustments as necessary to optimize performance and achieve desired outcomes.

**Requirements**:

- Preferred Secret Clearance but not required.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in operations and maintenance management, preferably in industrial facilities, infrastructure projects, or complex systems.
- Strong knowledge of operations and maintenance best practices, methodologies, and industry standards.
- Familiarity with asset management principles, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), and condition based maintenance (CBM) strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance monitoring tools and software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify operational challenges and develop effective solutions.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and coordinate project activities.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, codes, and standards related to operations and maintenance.
- Experience in conducting assessments, audits, and implementing improvement initiatives.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of professionalism and integrity.
