Procurement Specialist

Duties and responsibilities included, but are not limited to: Engaging with suppliers and helping qualify them to company and industry standards. Auditing scopes of work, both critical and non-critical. Train suppliers in best manufacturing methods suitable for our equipment’s, lower their cost & lead times. Provide weekly report against vendor schedules. Able to read manufacturing drawings, BOM. Work with QC & put in in-process checklist. Worked on Industry codes & standards such as ASME, API. etc Liaise between the supplier, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. Working with other departments to understand of support their needs; Continually working to improve departmental KPI’s; Ensuring HSE compliance for themselves and their suppliers; Adhering to all company policies.

**RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILTY & AUTHORITY**:

- Assists with the purchase of materials, supplies, services, and critical items.
- Ensures associated activities are accurately and completely documented and follow company policies, procedures, and practices.
- Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
- Communicates with vendors for updates on status of orders. Contacts vendors with discrepancies with quantity and quality.
- Responsible for data entry of purchase orders.
- Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely delivery and availability of resources.
- Manage inventory levels and track equipment usage to support operational demands.
- Issue invoices to customers and submitting them on time.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications: (Education/No. of Years of Experience)**
- College Degree in relevant field.
- Purchasing experience in a manufacturing plant preferred
- Experience using JDEdwards or other Oracle based ERP system preferred
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office (Word and Excel)
- Good mathematical skills
- Understanding of purchasing processes and specifications
