The head baker is responsible for developing and planning recipes and overseeing the daily production of various types of bread and other baked goods at the restaurant. Duties include understanding what types of baked goods clients prefer and developing or improving upon successful recipes. Test different ingredients for recipes and scale for large-scale production when needed. The head baker manages other bakers and has managerial responsibilities related to business operations.

- Head baker needs to stay up to date on the new developments and trends in bakeries.
- Keep their skills relevant and maintain a competitive advantage in the workplace.
- Coping with the growth of artisanal bread and customers’ requirements and preferences.
**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITIES**
- Managing the staff of bakers, including hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising.
- Creating new recipes for products such as breads and other baked goods.
- Measuring ingredients to create recipes and ensure that they are consistent and with optimal quality.
- Communicating with other members of the restaurants team to ensure that orders are delivered on time and that production runs smoothly.
- Maintaining clean work areas and equipment to prevent contamination and spoilage.
- Continuous testing of new recipes to improve taste or texture.
- Coordinating with other departments such as marketing and sales to promote and develop products.
- Preparing ingredients and production schedules for baking by measuring, chopping, mixing, kneading, etc.
- Planning menus based on seasonal availability of ingredients and customer preferences.
**REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Understanding of food safety practices
- Excellent time-management skills
- Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders, and dough sheeters.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced environment
- Team spirit, with a customer-focused attitude
- Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
- Ability to think creatively in developing new recipes and creating new menu items.
- Attention to details in following safety regulations and preparing food for customers.
- Baking knowledge in a variety of styles such as traditional, modern and fusion.
- Ability to identify issues and find solutions. Issues with ingredients, equipment or other problems that arise during the baking process.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE**
- 8-10 years of Bakery experience required.
- A proven track record in well-known restaurants.
Academic knowledge is a plus
**Salary**: ﷼10,000.00 - ﷼12,000.00 per month
**Experience**:
- Baking: 5 years (preferred)
