**الوصف الوظيفي العام للمرشد الطلابي**:
سيُطلب منك تدريس بعض فصول الانضباط الإدراكي عند الحاجة وتقديم المشورة التوجيهية للمتعلمين من خلال الأنشطة المخطط لها في مجموعات صغيرة أو إعدادات الفصل الدراسي لنقل المعلومات المدرسية التعليمية والاجتماعية المهمة وتقديم ورش عمل / ندوات لأولياء الأمور. سوف تقدم تقاريرك مباشرة إلى رئيس المدرسة الابتدائية.

**أصول التدريس والمسؤوليات الأساسية**:

- يقدم النصح والإرشاد للطلاب فيما يتعلق بالأهداف الأكاديمية والتعليمية والاجتماعية والعاطفية قصيرة المدى.
- يظل متاحًا ويبذل جهدًا لمعرفة حالة كل طالب تحت مسؤوليته.

- يتشاور ويسهل ويحافظ على التواصل مع أولياء الأمور والمدرسين والإداريين والوكلاء المعنيين بشأن المسائل الأكاديمية والتعليمية الخاصة بالطلاب وأولياء الأمور، بما في ذلك التعديلات الأكاديمية /أو أماكن الإقامة.
- يقدم استشارات موجزة لمعالجة المخاوف الاجتماعية والعاطفية ويحيل الطلاب بشكل مناسب إلى أخصائيي الصحة السلوكية.
- التواصل والتنسيق والتعاون مع المتخصصين في الصحة السلوكية في تطوير وتنفيذ دعم الطلاب.
- تحديد المشكلة السلوكية: التعاون مع المعلمين لتحديد الطلاب الذين يعانون من مشاكل سلوكية، وتقديم الدعم والتوجيه.

- الانضباط الإدراكي (CD): تعلم مبادئ الانضباط الإدراكي والتعرف عليها والتدريب عليها لدعم القيادة وتقديم المشورة لإدارة المدرسة وموظفي المدرسة.

**التطوير المهني**:

- المشاركة في برنامج تقييم المدرسة.
- حضور جميع اجتماعات الموظفين والبرامج التدريبية والمؤتمرات الموصى بها. (بما في ذلك التطوير المهني الذي يركز على الانضباط الإدراكي والتكنولوجيا والمناهج وطرق التدريس وتدريب البكالوريا الدولية المحدد.

**General Description of the Position: School Counselor**

As a counselor, you will work with homeroom teachers, collaborate with the Heads of departments, and actively participate in the school's mission to provide a well-rounded education. You will be required to teach some Conscious Discipline classes when needed and provide guidance counseling to learners through planned activities in small groups or classroom settings to convey educational, social, and important school information and offer workshops/seminars for parents. You will report directly to the Head of Elementary.

**Pedagogy & Core Responsibilities**:

- Advises and counsels learners regarding academic, educational, and short-term social and emotional goals.
- Remains universally accessible and makes an effort to know every learner for whom they are responsible.
- Document all information about learners and ensure a clear filing system where information can be found.
- Provides individual learner planning and responsive services to support learners and their families regarding academic matters.
- Consults and facilitates, and maintains communication with parents, teachers, administrators, and pertinent agents on specific learner and parent academic and educational matters, including academic modifications and/or accommodations.
- Provides feedback and recommends appropriate action and solutions to individual learners' academic and educational needs and abilities.
- Assists learners/parents in understanding school policies and procedures.
- Provides brief counseling to address social and emotional concerns and appropriately refers learners to behavioral health specialists.
- Communicates, coordinates, and collaborates with behavioral health specialists on developing and implementing learner support.
- Classroom Visits: Regularly visit classrooms to observe and assess the behavior and emotional well-being of learners.
- Behavioral Problem Identification: Collaborate with teachers to identify learners with behavioral problems, offering support and guidance.
- Referral System: Utilize the MLS counseling referral system for every identified child, ensuring a systematic approach to addressing learner needs.
- Strategy Implementation: Provide written strategies and model them in the classroom while working directly with the respective child to promote positive behavior.
- Classroom Support: Occasionally provide support to classrooms in the absence of educational support/teachers and when no other staff is available.
- Supports and attends appropriate learner activities and events.

- **School Collaboration & Team Work**:

- Substituting for any classroom based on MLS needs.
- Conscious Discipline (CD): Learn, familiarize, and train with the tenets of Conscious Discipline to support leadership and advise MLS administration and school staff.

**Professional Development**:

- Participate in the MLS Appraisal program.
- Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences. (Including professional development focused upon Conscious Discipline, technology, curriculum, pedagogy, and specific IB training).
