Landscaping

Support the completion of all landscaping design activities
Develop and define the overall landscaping design guidelines for adherence by township design teams
Enhance and implement standardization of landscaping design guidelines and practices to ensure ease of constructability and cost-efficiency
Ensure best-in-class development and application of landscaping design guidelines and practices in terms of lifetime cost of ownership, constructability, customer feedback etc
Works collaboratively as part of the integrated project delivery team and reports into the project manager for activities that relate to the objectives of a project
Provide technical support during construction to address landscaping issues, as needed
Landscape Design and Planning
Conceptual Design: Develop initial design concepts based on client requirements, project goals, and site conditions. This involves selecting plant species, materials, and layout that fit the desired aesthetic and functional needs.
Detailed Landscape Plans: Create detailed designs for landscape projects, including site plans, elevations, sections, and 3D models, incorporating elements such as planting, irrigation, hardscaping (e.g., walkways, patios), and water features.
Sustainability Integration: Ensure that designs prioritize sustainability by selecting drought-tolerant plants, promoting water conservation, using locally sourced materials, and considering the local ecosystem.
Site Analysis and Evaluation
Conduct Site Surveys: Perform site visits to assess existing conditions, including soil quality, topography, climate, drainage patterns, and existing vegetation.
Soil Testing and Analysis: Analyze soil conditions and select appropriate plants and materials based on the soil's composition, drainage properties, and environmental conditions.
Environmental Impact Assessments: Assess potential environmental impacts of the project and design solutions that minimize any adverse effects on the surrounding ecosystem.
Sustainable Landscaping
Green Infrastructure: Design landscape features that contribute to stormwater management, such as permeable pavements, rain gardens, bioswales, and green roofs.
Energy Efficiency: Incorporate energy-efficient landscaping practices, such as planting trees in strategic locations to reduce heating and cooling costs for buildings or using natural shading techniques.
Native Plants: Promote the use of native plants that require fewer resources (e.g., water and fertilizers), support local wildlife, and contribute to the conservation of local ecosystems.

Education

Bachelors/ Masters/ PhD in Architecture or equivalent
