Job Summary

The General Manager will lead, develop, and manage all manufacturing, commercial, and operational functions of the PVC Pipes plant. The role ensures production efficiency, commercial growth, quality assurance, profitability, and strategic market expansion. The GM is responsible for driving operational excellence, optimizing cost, and improving competitive positioning in local and export markets.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership

  2. Develop and execute long-term strategies for business growth and market expansion

  3. Set annual business plans, budgets, sales targets, and production KPIs

  4. Monitor market trends, competitors, and pricing to maintain a competitive advantage

  5. Operations & Manufacturing

  6. Oversee production planning, extrusion, molding, and packaging processes

  7. Ensure alignment with TQM/Lean/TPM manufacturing practices
  8. Drive productivity improvements, waste reduction, and machine utilization

  9. Ensure compliance with product standards (e.g., SASO, ASTM, DIN, ISO)

  10. Sales & Business Development

  11. Build and manage commercial strategies for local and export sales

  12. Engage with distributors, contractors, project clients, and government entities

  13. Achieve sales targets and margin goals across product lines (PVC/CPVC/HDPE where applicable)

  14. Financial Management

  15. Prepare and control operational and CAPEX budgets

  16. Analyze P&L, cost structures, and financial performance

  17. Improve profitability through cost optimization, pricing strategies, and supply chain control

  18. Supply Chain & Procurement

  19. Manage procurement of raw materials (PVC resin, additives, masterbatch, packaging, etc.)

  20. Drive supplier relationships, contracts, and negotiations

  21. Ensure continuity of materials with optimal cost and quality

  22. Quality & Compliance

  23. Maintain quality control and testing processes as per industry and regulatory standards

  24. Coordinate with certification bodies and ensure compliance with SASO, ISO, and environmental regulations

  25. People & Organizational Management

  26. Lead and develop cross-functional teams: Production, Sales, Maintenance, QA/QC, Supply Chain, HR, Finance

  27. Oversee manpower planning, recruitment, coaching, and performance evaluation

  28. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement

  29. Maintenance & Technical Development

  30. Ensure preventive & corrective maintenance of extrusion lines and dies

  31. Evaluate investments in new machinery and technology upgrades

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, Industrial, or similar); MBA preferred
  • 15–20+ years of relevant experience in PVC/CPVC pipes manufacturing (minimum 5 years in senior leadership)
  • Strong knowledge of extrusion technology, material formulations, and pipe standards
  • Proven track record in managing P&L, operations, and commercial functions
