Role Purpose
The Barista is responsible for crafting high-quality coffee drinks, operating coffee machines, and providing exceptional guest service in a café or coffee shop setting. This role includes preparing beverages according to established standards, maintaining cleanliness and organization of the service area, and engaging with guests to create a welcoming environment. The Barista is also responsible for ensuring compliance with food service standards and contributing to product development and quality control.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, such as espressos, cappuccinos, lattes, and other specialty drinks, using professional coffee machines and equipment.
- Follow standardized recipes and presentation guidelines to ensure consistency and quality in all beverages.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, ensuring all equipment and utensils are sanitized and in good working condition.
- Provide a welcoming and friendly atmosphere for guests, greeting them warmly and assisting with menu selection and customization.
- Address guest inquiries and complaints promptly, demonstrating proficiency in guest engagement and pacification techniques.
- Upsell and recommend products based on guest preferences, contributing to increased sales and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with food service standards, including HACCP Intermediate guidelines and Front-of-House (FOH) SOPs.
- Assist with inventory management, stock replenishment, and product quality checks to maintain operational efficiency.
- Provide a high level of guest service, creating a positive and memorable café experience for all guests.
Role Minimum Qualification
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a Barista or in a similar cafe operation.
- Mixology experience is a plus.
- Ability to engage and interact with guests effectively, ensuring a positive cafe experience.
- Capable of multitasking in high-pressure environments and communicating effectively in English; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage but not required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, with no visual or auditory impediments.
