Responsibilities

Data Modeling and Transformation


• Connect Power BI to various data sources (SQL databases, Excel, Azure, APIs, etc.).


• Clean, transform, and prepare data using Power Query (M language).


• Build efficient and optimized data models using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

Dashboard and Report Development


• Design interactive and visually appealing Power BI reports and dashboards.


• Create measures, KPIs, and calculated columns using DAX.


• Ensure reports are intuitive, responsive, and performance-optimized


•Data Analysis and Insights


• Analyze data trends and patterns to provide actionable insights.


• Collaborate with business users to understand data requirements and reporting needs.


• Support decision-making with clear visual storytelling and data interpretation.

Integration and Deployment


• Publish and manage reports in the Power BI Service.


• Configure data refresh schedules, gateways, and row-level security (RLS).


• Integrate Power BI with other tools (e.g., SharePoint, Teams, Excel, Azure Synapse

Maintenance and Support


• Monitor report performance and optimize queries or visuals.


• Troubleshoot data or report issues.


• Maintain version control and documentation for dashboards and datasets.

Technical Skills Required

• Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL concepts


• Understanding of Azure Data Services (optional but valuable)

•Power BI Development:

3+ years of experience designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop and

Power BI Service. Delivered end-to-end BI solutions for sales, finance, and operations teams.


•Data Modeling & DAX Expertise:

Skilled in building optimized data models (star and snowflake schemas), creating calculated columns, measures, and KPIs using DAX for accurate and dynamic reporting.


•Data Transformation (Power Query / M):

Hands-on experience in data cleansing, shaping, and merging multiple data sources using Power Query (M Language) to prepare data for analysis.


•

Database Management & SQL:

Proficient in writing complex SQL queries for data extraction, aggregation, and transformation from SQL Server, Oracle, and MySQL databases.

Worked closely with data engineers to optimize queries and improve report performance.

•Security & Governance:

Configured Row-Level Security (RLS) and managed user roles and permissions in Power BI Service to ensure data confidentiality and compliance.

Data Integration & Automation:

Implemented Power BI Gateway for automatic data refresh and integrated reports with SharePoint, Teams, and Excel.

Experience with Power Automate for workflow automation and report distribution.
