Job Summary :

The API Inspector is responsible for ensuring the integrity and compliance of equipment, particularly pressure vessels, tanks, and pipelines, according to API (American Petroleum Institute) standards. This role involves inspecting, testing, and evaluating the condition of assets to ensure they meet safety, regulatory, and operational requirements. The API Inspector works closely with the project team, contractors, and clients to ensure equipment meets API standards and industry best practices.

Experience : 2 - 6 years

Salary : SAR 3,500 - 4,500/month

Location : Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia

Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Conduct detailed inspections of pressure vessels, tanks, pipelines, and other equipment to ensure compliance with API standards and project specifications.
  • Review equipment design documents, inspection records, and API inspection codes to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
  • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and testing of equipment, identifying any signs of wear, corrosion, cracks, or other issues that may affect functionality or safety.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all inspections, including findings, non-conformities, corrective actions, and test results.
  • Prepare and review inspection reports and assist in the development of inspection test plans (ITPs).
  • Verify that all materials, welding, and pressure testing are performed in accordance with API guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve any non-conformances or deviations from API standards during inspections.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure timely and effective corrective actions for identified issues.
  • Provide technical support to project teams regarding API standards, inspection processes, and safety protocols.
  • Stay updated on changes to API codes and regulations, ensuring all inspections are performed in accordance with the latest standards.
  • Monitor and ensure that equipment is operated safely and efficiently during inspection and testing phases.

Mandatory Requirements :

  • Certification as an API Inspector (e.g., API 510, API 570, or API 653).
  • Strong knowledge of API codes, standards, and regulations (API 510, API 570, API 653).
  • Proficiency in non-destructive testing (NDT) methods such as ultrasonic testing, radiographic testing, and magnetic particle testing.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and equipment specifications.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify potential issues during inspections.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting inspection results and collaborating with teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of equipment integrity management, safety standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to manage inspection activities effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • A relevant diploma or certification in engineering, mechanical, or materials science is preferred".
