The Ibn Rushd Postdoctoral Fellowship Award is a highly competitive program that supports Saudi scholars who are exceptional Ph.D. students or recent Ph.D. graduates (within ±2 years of earning their Ph.D. degrees) to pursue their postdoctoral research at globally recognized host institutions.

The program offers a unique opportunity for selected scholars leading to an independent academic career with a focus on research and higher education. Awards are up to 3 years with a generous annual stipend and subject to an annual performance review.

Award Benefits:

  • A generous annual stipend for up to three years.  The start date of the award cannot be earlier than July 1st, 2026.
  • Invitations to annual scientific and career development workshops organized by relevant KAUST Divisions and Initiatives.

To be considered for appointment as an Ibn Rushd Postdoctoral Fellow, candidates must meet one of the following criteria at the time of application:

  • Have successfully completed their Ph.D. (or equivalent) between 2023 and 2025; or

  • Be enrolled in a reputable doctoral program with the expectation of receiving their Ph.D. (or equivalent) between 2025 and 2027.
