Cloud Automation Engineer "OCI-OCVS"

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Cloud Automation Engineer to design, build, and optimize infrastructure automation solutions across cloud-based and hybrid environments. The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise with tools such as Ansible, Terraform, and CloudFormation, and will be proficient in establishing robust CI/CD pipelines. This role also focuses on leveraging Cloud automation to deliver scalable, secure, and resilient infrastructure solutions through Infrastructure as Code (IaC) best practices. In addition, hands-on experience with OpenShift, Nutanix platforms, and Hyperscaler environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) is highly desirable to support the organization's multi- cloud and hybrid-cloud automation strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

     Infrastructure Automation & Orchestration

o     Develop and maintain reusable and scalable IaC templates using tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.

o     Automate provisioning, configuration, and management of cloud infrastructure across public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.

o     Enable policy-as-code practices to ensure compliance and governance across automated deployments.

o     Manage OpenShift clusters to support containerized application environments.

     CI/CD Pipelines

o     Design and manage CI/CD pipelines for automating the build, test, and deployment of infrastructure and application code.

o     Integrate automated testing and quality gates to ensure reliability and performance of deployments.

o     Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to streamline the software delivery lifecycle.

     Cloud Platform Management

o     Work with platforms such as VMware, OCI and Google Cloud to deploy and optimize cloud infrastructure.

o     Use IaC tools to support multi-cloud and hybrid cloud strategies.

o     Enable  cloud-native  architecture  and  containerized  environments  using Kubernetes and Docker.

o     Utilize VMware automation tools to enhance operational efficiency and deliver self-service capabilities.

o     Integrate and automate solutions across Nutanix platforms and hyperscaler environments such as Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).

     Monitoring & Optimization

o     Monitor infrastructure performance and implement auto-scaling and self-healing mechanisms.

o     Identify and automate repetitive operational tasks to enhance efficiency and reduce downtime.

o     Troubleshoot infrastructure issues and ensure high availability and disaster recovery readiness.

     Collaboration & Documentation

o     Collaborate  with  development,  operations,  and  security  teams  to  align infrastructure automation with business goals.

o     Maintain clear and detailed documentation of automation scripts, pipelines, and architecture.

o     Provide training and mentorship to team members on IaC tools and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

     Technical Expertise:

o     Advanced knowledge of Ansible, Terraform for IaC implementation.

o     Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or GitHub Actions.

o     Hands-on experience with cloud provider Hyperscaler OCI.

o     Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

o     Experience working with Nutanix environments (AHV, Prism, Calm) for infrastructure automation.

o     Familiarity with version control systems like Git and GitOps workflows.

     Nice to Have:

o     Solid understanding and Administration of containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms such as Red Hat OpenShift.

o     Experience with other Cloud Providers as AWS and Azure.

     Soft Skills:

o     Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive mindset.

o     Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

o     Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

     Experience:

o     Minimum 5 years of experience in infrastructure automation on Public Cloud OCI Platform, Cloud Engineering, or DevOps roles.

o     Proven experience in deploying and managing IaC at scale with Terraform and Configuration Management using Ansible.

Certifications

     Certifications  in  Terraform  (HashiCorp  Certified: Terraform  Associate), OCI,  or Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD/OpenShift Specialist Ex280)

     Nutanix Certified Associate (NCA) and Nutanix Certified Professional - Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI)

     RHCSA and RHCE Certifications
