Job Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for overseeing day-to-day accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and supporting management with financial analysis and controls. The role requires strong technical accounting knowledge and the ability to work independently and supervise junior staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Ensure accuracy of general ledger entries and account reconciliations
  • Manage month-end and year-end closing processes
  • Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and regulations
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Coordinate with auditors and support internal and external audits
  • Prepare tax filings and ensure timely statutory submissions
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff
  • Identify process improvements to strengthen financial controls

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum 5–7 years of accounting experience (senior-level preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Experience with accounting software and ERP systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure
  • Preferred Skills (Optional)
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent)
  • Experience in KSA accounting regulations and VAT
  • Prior experience in a supervisory role
