  • Procurement Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing the sourcing, purchasing, and supply of materials, goods, and services required by the company. In a manufacturing environment, this role ensures that production has timely access to quality materials at the best possible cost. The Procurement Manager develops purchasing strategies, negotiates with suppliers, manages vendor relationships, and ensures compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • The role demands deep knowledge of supply chain management, vendor negotiation, and cost control specific to the cable manufacturing industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with company goals and production schedules.
  • Source and evaluate suppliers of raw materials, packaging, and manufacturing components locally and internationally.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing
    with suppliers to ensure best value, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Monitor market trends
    , commodity prices (especially copper and aluminum), and assess supplier performance and risks.
  • Coordinate with production, planning, and engineering teams
    to ensure timely availability of materials.
  • Ensure compliance
    with Saudi regulatory requirements and international standards.
  • Implement inventory control measures
    to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
  • Manage and develop a team of procurement officers and buyers.
  • Use
    ERP systems
    (e.g., MX Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or local systems) for procurement and reporting.
  • Build long-term strategic relationships with suppliers.
  • Ensure ethical and sustainable sourcing practices.
  • Develop purchasing strategies to ensure the acquisition of goods and services at the best possible price and quality
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and maintain strong relationships.
  • Evaluate and select suppliers, ensuring they meet quality and delivery standards.
  • Lead, train, and develop staff in the purchasing department.
  • Evaluate team performance and provide feedback to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Budgeting and Control: Develop and manage budgets for purchasing, logistics, and supply chain areas, always seeking cost reduction and profitability improvement.
  • Data Analysis: Perform cost and performance analyses to identify savings opportunities and enhance operational efficiency.
  • Regulations and Compliance: Ensure that all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management**: Identify and manage risks in the supply chain, including disruptions and market fluctuations.
  • Technology Implementation**: Introduce new technologies and systems to improve efficiency and effectiveness in supply chain, purchasing, and logistics.
  • Process Improvement**: Foster a culture of continuous improvement to optimize processes and adapt to changing market demands.
  • Interdepartmental Interaction: Coordinate with other departments, such as production, sales, and finance, to ensure effective alignment with business objectives.
  • External Relationships: Maintain effective relationships with customers, suppliers, and other strategic partners.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications and Education: University Graduate preferably in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field
  • Experience: 7–10 years of procurement experience, preferably in a cable manufacturing or electrical manufacturing environment.
  • Training: Computer skills & English language
  • Knowledge: International trading.
  • Solid experience in
    vendor management

    international procurement

    contract negotiations
    .
  • Knowledge of
    Saudi import regulations
    ,
    customs procedures
    , and
    SFDA/SASO/SABER
    systems.
  • Experience working with
    ERP systems
    (SAP, Oracle, etc.)
  • Fluent in English; Arabic is a plus.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to discuss highly technical concepts with prospective leads
  • Willingness to travel
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
