1. Electro-Mechanical Engineer (Utilities Specialist)

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed electrical and mechanical utility designs (water, sewer, stormwater, HVAC, firefighting, power distribution, district cooling, gas networks).
  • Prepare and review load calculations, equipment sizing, utility layouts, and capacity requirements.
  • Ensure all designs comply with local authority standards (MOMRA, NWC, SEC, RC, RCRC, NFPA, ASHRAE, SBC).
  • Integrate utilities with architectural and civil designs to avoid conflicts and ensure seamless system performance.
  • Conduct utility demand forecasting, network performance analysis, and capacity assessment.
  • Review shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for compliance with project specifications.
  • Perform feasibility studies for new utility infrastructures or upgrades of existing systems.
  • Oversee on-site installation of electrical, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
  • Ensure contractor activities follow approved drawings, QA/QC plans, and HSE requirements.
  • Inspect testing and commissioning of mechanical and electrical systems (pressure tests, continuity tests, FAT/SAT).
  • Identify and resolve design clashes between utilities and structural/road elements.
  • Support the Coordinate with municipalities, utility providers (NWC, SEC, STC, SWCC), and other stakeholders for approvals.
  • Attend design coordination meetings and prepare technical reports, correspondence, and progress updates.
  • Manage interface requirements with transportation, geotechnical, and environmental teams.
  • Prepare as-built documentation, redline drawings, network models, and operation manuals.
  • Compile weekly and monthly progress reports showing status, challenges, and mitigation measures.
  • Ensure proper documentation for handing over utility systems to authorities or end-users.
