The vision for the King Salman International Airport (KSIA) in Riyadh is truly a first of a kind sustainable airport and airport city development. The expansion anticipates accommodating up to 120 million passengers annually through 2030, quadrupling the current capacity of 30 million. The airport is expected to become one of the world's busiest international hubs, accommodating 185 million passengers and up to 3.5 million tons of cargo annually by 2050.The airport and airport city development are looking to set a global benchmark for aviation experience.
With sustainability at its core, the new airport will achieve LEED Platinum certification by incorporating cutting edge green initiatives into its design and will be powered by renewable energy.
We are excited to announce a career opportunity as a
Lead Civil Engineer
within the KSA in the Middle East. In this role you will be responsible for guiding the design and engineering of key civil components such as airside pavements, roads, drainage systems, utilities, and grading. You will provide technical leadership across design and construction phases, ensuring integration with geotechnical, structural, environmental, and MEP disciplines

Design Leadership & Technical Oversight
- Lead the design and engineering of civil works including airside pavements, roads and highways, drainage systems, dry and wet utilities and site grading and earthworks
- Review and approve design documentation, specifications, and engineering calculations.
Multidisciplinary Coordination
- Collaborate with geotechnical, structural, environmental, and MEP teams to ensure integrated and constructible solutions.
- Resolve design interface issues and ensure alignment across disciplines.
Construction Support & Site Engagement
- Provide technical leadership during construction, addressing design-related queries and supporting site teams.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure adherence to design intent and quality standards.
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure all civil designs comply with KSA local codes, international engineering standards and airport authority requirements
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and incorporate them into project delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Manage design consultants and interface with contractors and client representatives.
- Facilitate design coordination meetings and technical workshops.
Value Engineering & Risk Management
- Support value engineering initiatives to optimize cost and performance.
- Contribute to risk identification, mitigation planning, and change control processes.
Quality Assurance & Lifecycle Oversight
- Oversee technical reviews, quality assurance, and design validation throughout the project lifecycle.
- Maintain documentation and traceability of design decisions and approvals.
Here's what you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, with at least 5 years of relevant civil infrastructure and airport-related project experience.
- Middle East project experience is preferable, with a strong understanding of regional design and construction practices.
- Strong knowledge of KSA local codes, international standards, and airport authority requirements.
