Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Marine Electrical Technician to install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and electronic systems on marine vessels. The successful candidate will ensure reliable operation of onboard electrical systems while complying with maritime safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair marine electrical and electronic systems
  • Troubleshoot faults in AC/DC systems, switchboards, and control panels
  • Maintain generators, batteries, charging systems, and power distribution systems
  • Inspect wiring, cables, and connections for wear, corrosion, and damage
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics and technical manuals
  • Perform preventive maintenance and safety inspections
  • Ensure compliance with maritime electrical and safety regulations
  • Maintain accurate service reports and maintenance records
  • Coordinate with marine engineers, mechanics, and shipyard teams

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical Engineering, Marine Electrical Technology, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Marine Electrical Technician or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of marine AC/DC systems and electrical safety practices
  • Familiarity with generators, motors, and control systems
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment
  • Understanding of maritime standards and classification society rules
  • Physically fit and comfortable working onboard vessels and shipyards

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with PLCs, automation, or dynamic positioning systems
  • Knowledge of marine navigation and communication equipment
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
