Job description

Role: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Description:

Designing of Armored Vehicles from concept to complete vehicle, chassis based, as well as complete vehicle made from separate components.

Do all R&D for components required as per the contract's specification.

Control the design and configuration.

To succeed in this role, candidates should:

  • Have experience performing technical drawing updates and preparing change notices to support Technical Drawing Package updates for our armored vehicles.
  • Be proficient in sheet metal design principles.
  • Have good understanding of mechanical integrations, system integration and production support.
  • Have good experience to take a design from concept to final commissioning.
  • Be able to design model tree according to best practices for manufacturing.
  • Supply manufacturing team with design releases (Drawings, DXF's, BOM)
  • Vast experience in config management.
  • Be able to set up Creo Config, Drawing templates, and other settings within the Creo environment.
  • Control part numbering, parameters, ECP's, Setup of Config files and manage the Creo environment.
  • Ensure that all parameters are entered as per design principles, and all data is available in the model to ensure procurement and production will be able to follow drawings and BOM's to procure and manufacture items correctly.
  • Must be able to provide procurement with exact information to be able to procure items for the project.
  • The ability to use PTC Windchill, Creo Nesting, and Creo machining will be a bonus.
  • Candidate will always promote and maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with all safety rules of the company.
  • You will be expected to sign NDA.

Required Skills:

  • Must have 3+ years of experience with CREO utilizing features in above mentioned requirements.
  • Having electrical design experience will be a bonus.
  • Must have worked in the Armored vehicle industry for at least 3+ years.
  • Must be organized and have excellent communication skills, ability to speak, read and write English is necessary.
  • Vast knowledge of materials used within the armored vehicle industry.
  • Must be an initiative-taker that takes ownership of tasks and drives them to completion.
  • Ability to think out of the box implementing innovative technologies and design principles.
